Q. How does it work?
A. Once you've placed your order, we'll contact you with our address, so you can send us your clothes or bring them in person. We'll discuss how the finished product will look, and you can let us know if there's anything special you would like. It can sometimes be tricky, but we always try our best to fulfil your wishes! In any case, we will let you know what's possible before starting.
We'll let you know when it's ready and arrange collection or secure delivery.
Alternatively, you can contact us directly to place your order via our Facebook page or email.
Q. How long does it take to make a bear?
A. It depends how busy we are, but normally we aim to get your bear ready within three to four weeks of receiving your clothes. We'll let you know if it's going to take much longer than that.
Q. How big are the bears?
A. The bears are about 28 cm (11 in) tall when seated.
Q. Can you make other animals?
A. Our philosophy is to do one thing really well, so we've chosen to specialise in bears. We might consider doing other things in time, but it's bears only for now!
Q. Can I add personalisation, like a name?
A. We think the special memory lies in the fabrics themselves, rather than any words. In addition, names can vary quite a bit in length, so it can sometimes be tricky to incorporate them. So like the question above, we prefer to keep things simple, and this isn't something we are doing at the moment.
Q. How do I get my things to you?
A. Once you've placed an order, you'll receive an email with our address and full instructions. You can either bring your clothes to us in person, or send them using our dedicated courier service, which also includes returning the finished product to you.
Q. Can I give the bears as toys?
A. No, they aren't suitable as toys. All the component parts (like the stuffing and the eyes and noses) are fully CE-compliant, and the bears themselves are made to the highest standards. However, because we're using upcycled fabrics, we can't test the finished product, and so we can't offer safety certification on the finished product.
